Re: jungle production competition

"p739 why don't you render out 3 synth's you want as long hits and then do all your filtering etc outside of the synth engine? i would definitely like to see an entry from you"

It's all good actually. As long as there's a basic saw, square and sine i'll be happy.

And a selection of snare drums and bass drums. but i can send some i guess.

but it shouldn't be too hard to send 3 samples should it?
i want everyone to have a say over the direction of the pack and represent the diversity that is contemporary jungle

That seems fair. I don't want to be the old stick in the mud who didn't contribute; I'll hit you up with some samples.

Thank you for taking the reins of the competition.

The basic synth samples could be in C E G A

At the 3rd 4th and 5th octave (maybie the 2nd as well) then ill see no reason for folk to complain.

About equal>> People can still have diferent qualities of filters of coarse(not to mention computer capacity and so on). It would be intresting sometime to have even an no-filter competition. Kinda like a bluesjam for jungle ; ) Just the basics and a whole lot of imagination. Going back to the tracker method of creating tape delay effects and tb-303 tweaks and so on. : )

Re: jungle production competition

Very cool! I'm in! You've a bit of a typo in the second prize category, however. Knew what you meant, but just thought you might like to know. This should b a good competition; cool prizes so far!

Re: jungle production competition

USB (un sound bwoy gettit?! thats deadly acronim actually!! but u probably know this haha)

how bout u make deadline like the 31 march and start the voting on the first of june? just a thought seems to make more sense (or at least easier to remember the deadline hahaha)
maybe uve thought the dates through more and im just being ignorant wink

big respect to all those giving prizes!!
about the 10/7" pressings tho... 2 tracks mastered n pressed does that mean u get to press a second track or will there be 2 (or 4) actual winners? just wondering, (or maybe u press the same tune both sides case it wears out oldschool dubplate acetate stylee)

bigup for coordinating this once again and yea u totally can enter if its being blind judged by the publico...!!

respec man

Re: jungle production competition

double sided plates.

first place, double sided 10", same on both side or two different tracks
second place, double sided 7" same on both sides or two different tracks

the dubs will be done on everlast vinyl, so you should get 100+ plays from each side (as opposed to 200+ on normal vinyl) before it degrades.

i've used vinylcarvers to but dubs before and have given them to sock monster and anonymous1. the quality has been dope, loud and punchy, sitting well in the mix. i remember a thread about dubs from a couple of years ago and a few here used them too.

dates make sense
samples to be sent a fortnight from when i decided to do it
entries to be made within a month
posted on last day
all votes placed within 2 weeks
then i announce winners and get the prizes happening. seen?

glad this is turning out well.

remember to word up non ragga-jungle.com using producers.

Oooh im so hyped.

Its perfect since if i dont produce some music soon then i will surely die, but i can not realy throw myself into doing loads of tunes with my examina work now, so having this to work back and forth on while doing schoolwork will keep me alive but not distract me to much.

What about the Hecticcc question?

92mb zip

http://www.sendspace.com/file/iy505j

hopefully everything is covered in the pack.

i can't think of any reason you can't submit multiple tracks ...
but i think your time would be better spent getting one track well and truly fucking sorted. you got some competition bwoy!!

all those who didn't submit samples are banned from using the amen.
sorry but fair's fair.

hehe nah fa real looking forward to seeing entries from everyone

enjoy.

Re: jungle production competition

ah snap, almost had me there with the "banned from using the amen" bit, hahaha.

new job, babies, new tunes, etc = my excuse for spacing sending in samples.

all good tho, ill have a proper entry for the comp.

looking forward to the submissions!
